The Elvis Weekend 2106

Three car loads of us set off down to John and Julies home to invade Wales for the Porthcawl Elvis tribute weekend.
Julie and John welcomed us with food and drink and a warm sunny back garden to relax after the journey.
After those of us that were staying were shown to our rooms and the others set off for their hotel, with a plan to be ready to be picked up by John driving the minibus a couple of hours later.

We all then were driven into Cardiff  Bay for an evening meal followed by a trip to a night club with a Rat pack style singer and then home again to get some sleep before the main event.

After a hearty breakfast cooked for us by Julie (bread prepaed by John) we set off to the hotel
to pick up the others and then off to the shows.

Every one of us was dressed up to some degree in Elvis styled gear as were most of the thousands of people who attended.

Some pictures of the the weekend  follow including Geoff doing a line dance with Flat Elvis and Phil being sung happy birthday by the singer in the restaurant in an operatic style.
Also Geoff , Lee, Phil and Gary were throwing a few moves to the music at one point as the photos show.
Sorry pictures are not in order. If you have some that you would like added please get them to me by email.

There are some pictures of some of the impersonators, Victor Trevino Jr, Peter Storm, John Read and El Elvis (don't remember his Name) (plus our own Fat Elvis) Gary, (nickname from Greenie one lock)  Kevin ,Julie,Phil and Sue as well as all the usual Boatenders. John and Jul;ie's daughter Sam is in there as well plus others at the venue who we didn't know but got in the photos.
Thanks to everyone for making it a great weekend and a special thanks to John (the driver) and Julie for being such "Fabulous" hosts.
Once again if you are not in the pictures I'm sorry and if you have some you want added get them to me.
Mick the Stick
PS Julie said she didn't charge us the ferry fee as it didn't turn up.
